BioE also announced it has launched a new, enhanced corporate Web site at www.bioe.com.

ISEH 2006 Annual Meeting: IP and Marketing Symposium

Michael Haider, president and chief executive officer for BioE, will participate in a symposium titled "Intellectual Property and Marketing Issues Related to Cells and Cell-Based Therapeutics" to be held Thurs., Sept. 28, 2006.

Haider and other panel participants will focus their discussion on stem cells, including patent claim strategies, recent developments in cell-related patent law and challenges associated with marketing a cell or cell-based therapeutic. Specifically, Haider will discuss BioE's experiences patenting and marketing its rare cord blood cord blood

ISEH 2006 Annual Meeting: Scientific Poster Presentations

The MLPC also will be the subject of two poster presentations by Daniel Collins, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief scientific officer for BioE, at the ISEH 2006 annual meeting. In these presentations, Dr. Collins will share scientific data comparing the MLPC to bone marrow- and cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), as well as research on the MLPC's flexibility to differentiate into numerous cell types in various two- and three-dimensional cell culture conditions, including on matrices and scaffolds.

This scientific data further demonstrates the MLPC's potential as a new, powerful tool for regenerative medicine research, as well as tissue engineering, drug discovery/toxicology screening and the development of more effective extracellular matrix extracellular matrix (eksˈ·tr·selˑ·y  scaffolds.

"As we and our research collaborators around the world continue to work with the MLPC, it's becoming clear our stem cell is leading a new category of highly functional stem cells from cord blood," Dr. Collins said. "We still have much to learn, but it is within reason that the MLPC could directly impact regenerative medicine and drug development processes in the very near-term."

BioE Launches New Web Site

BioE also announced today it has re-launched its corporate Web site Co www.bioe.com. The new site will enable the company to better communicate with its many audiences, including the scientific community about its MLPC and the cord blood banking industry about its soon-to-be-released cord blood processing system, PrepaCyte([R])-CB. A variety of news and events and technical and non-technical information about BioE and its products can be found on the site. The site also provides the ability for academic institutions, biotechnology organizations and pharmaceutical companies around the world to purchase the MLPC.
