BioCrossroads' Indiana Future Fund Entrepreneurial Forum to Make Stop in Indianapolis; Event Will Showcase IU School of Medicine Research and Commercialization Opportunities to Venture Capitalists.


INDIANAPOLIS -- On Tuesday, January 17, 2006, the BioCrossroads life sciences initiative, Indiana University Indiana University, main campus at Bloomington; state supported; coeducational; chartered 1820 as a seminary, opened 1824. It became a college in 1828 and a university in 1838. The medical center (run jointly with Purdue Univ.  and the Indiana University School of Medicine The Indiana University School of Medicine is the medical school of Indiana University, part of the Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Established in 1903, the school had an initial class of 25 students.  will host the Indiana Future Fund Entrepreneurial Forum in Indianapolis.

This is the fourth Entrepreneurial Forum that BioCrossroads has sponsored, with support from Indiana Future Fund professional management firm Credit Suisse First Boston Credit Suisse First Boston was originally the trading name of the Financière Crédit Suisse-First Boston, a London-based 50-50 investment banking joint venture formed in 1978 between the First Boston Corporation and Credit Suisse.  (CSFB CSFB Credit Suisse First Boston

), since April 2005. CSFB manages the Indiana Future Fund, a $73 million venture capital pool that employs a network of local and national venture investment firms to explore Indiana life sciences investment opportunities. The Indiana Future Fund was formed through BioCrossroads.

The event will feature presentations from representatives of four IU School of Medicine-related companies, including csKeys LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

In addition to the Entrepreneurial Forum, BioCrossroads is hosting a luncheon for legislators at the Skyline Club in Indianapolis to update them on related activities.

Future Fund investors include Indiana's public pension funds as well as corporate and academic institutions. The Future Fund has invested in six venture capital funds Venture Capital Funds

An investment fund that manages money from investors seeking private equity stakes in small and medium-size enterprises with strong growth potential.

Pappas & Associates, Burrill & Company, EDF (algorithm) EDF - earliest deadline first.  Ventures, Pearl Street Venture Funds, Spring Mill Venture Fund and Triathlon triathlon, athletic event made up of three contests. Since the 1970s the term has come to mean especially a race combining swimming, bicycling, and running. A notable example is Hawaii's Ironman Triathlon, held since 1978, which features a 2.  Medical Ventures.
