"We are pleased with our continued sales growth, which reflects the growing acceptance of the Bio-Plexus Punctur-Guard(R) needle. Our sales force is adding new hospitals and clinics nationally and we expect to see ongoing sales growth for the balance of the year," said Ron Haverl, chairman and chief executive officer.

The company's focus on improving and expanding its production processes resulted in lower research and development costs for the quarter. A new generation needle assembly and packaging system which will expand Bio-Plexus production capacity is expected to be completed this Spring.

During the quarter the company announced that it has filed 510(k) applications with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval to market its winged set and needle disposal container. The winged set is comprised of a smaller needle with a pair of plastic "wings" that gives the healthcare worker greater ability to control the needle for very precise vein insertion insertion n. the addition of language at a place within an existing typed or written document, which is always suspect unless initialled by all parties. .
