Binswanger Sells Former LSI Logic Facility in Colorado Springs to Growing X-ray Technology Company.

DENVER -- Binswanger is pleased to announce the sale of LSI Logic Corporation's 239,200 sq. ft. facility on 39 acres in Colorado Springs, Colo., to dpiX, LLC. dpiX will begin immediately retrofitting the facility, which eventually will employ approximately 125 people.

Headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., dpiX produces amorphous silicon (a-Si) sensor arrays used in cutting-edge technology solutions for the medical, industrial, military and security X-ray imaging fields. The company purchased the Colorado facility to produce sensors for its largest growing market segment, medical x-ray imaging. Retrofit of the building and its approximately 50,000 sq. ft. of cleanrooms will begin immediately.

Leading semiconductor developer LSI Logic Corporation, represented by Eric Dienstbach of Binswanger's Colorado office, ceased operations at this facility in 2001. The property is the first of several downsizes in LSI Logic's U.S. manufacturing operations, which will be consolidated and moved offshore. Headquartered in Milpitas, Calif., LSI Logic provides system-on-a-chip technologies used worldwide in the broadband and wireless communications, consumer electronics, and data networking markets.

Located at 1635 Aeroplaza Drive, the fully air-conditioned high-tech manufacturing building includes 30,000 sq. ft. of top-quality office space in addition to the cleanrooms. Eighteen acres of the 39-acre property can be used for future expansion.
