BindView Participates with Key Decision Makers to Address Internet Security Issues; Company Chairman to Attend Internet Security Summit at White House Complex.

As part of its ongoing involvement in defining Internet security policies, BindView Corporation (NASDAQ:BVEW), today announced that Founder and Chairman of the Board, Eric Pulaski, will attend an Internet security conference being held at the White House Complex on April 18, 2000. The one day conference is being sponsored by The Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office of the U.S. Department of Commerce and organized by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the National Association of Corporate Directors. In addition, Pulaski, who also serves as BindView's Chief Technology Officer, will speak at subsequent regional summits throughout the country.

The purpose of the one-day summit is to address information security risk management and assurance. Attendance for the conference is limited to 100 attendees, including board of directors, CEOs, CIOs as well as partners of the leading top five CPA firms. Participants of the summit will be challenged to help carry the key messages forward about the need for improved information security risk management and assurance practices.

The conference will release the report, "Information Security Management and Assurance - A Call to Action for Corporate Governance (A Board-Level Guidance Report)." This report was developed by the IIA in conjunction with BindView and other industry leaders to raise awareness among corporate directors and managers on the importance of improving information security risk management.

Pulaski will draw on his extensive experience in designing and delivering IT risk management solutions for addressing the security, integrity and availability of networks and the services and applications that run on them.
