Paul Howard is a journalist with the Sunday Tribune, an Irish Sunday newspaper. Howard is best known as the author of the paper's Ross O'Carroll-Kelly columns.
 (18) Kris Pilkington (20) and Sean Moore (20) had their first taste of action of the new season on the Plains Farm show and South Durham ABC show.

Howard scored a good points win after three hard rounds against Kev Nelson from the Plains Farm ABC on the club's home show.

Pilkington won his first bout for the Bilton club when he outpointed Sean Pritchard from the South Durham ABC on the club's dinner show at Hardwick Hall Hardwick Hall (grid reference SK463637) in Doe Lea, Derbyshire is one of the most significant Elizabethan country houses in England. In common with its architect Robert Smythson's other works at both Longleat House and Wollaton Hall, Hardwick Hall is one of the earliest examples . Pilkington scored with stiff left jabs to edge the judges verdict.

And Moore, having his 49th contest, was up against England rep Jeff Saunders - younger brother of Olympian Brad - and also put up a good performance only to lose out 13-10 on one judge's scorecard.

Moore scored with some good crisp left hooks, but Saunders' extra workrate and experience gained him the verdict.

All of the Bilton Hall boxers will be on view on the club's home show on Tuesday, November 3 at the Neon club.

Tickets, at only pounds 10, are available from the Neon club or Martyn Devlin on 07752 515 280.
