Bilour directs departmental disciplinary action against 2 govt officers.

Peshawar, December 09, 2009 (Frontier Star): The NWFP Senior Minister and Parliamentary Leader of ANP Bashir Ahmad Bilour has directed for departmental disciplinary action against two govt officers including TMO for embezzlement in purchase of tractors for Tehsil Municipal Administration Mansehra under the special powers vested in the provincial govt under the NWFP Removal from Service (Special Power) Ordinance 2000. He ordered this on receiving a report about corruption in procurement of 25 new tractors for TMA Mansehra by PERRA some few months back wherein it was stated that Muhammad Rehman Khattak TMO (B-18) and Engr. Abdul Latif Town Officer Infrastructure of TMA Mansehra caused colossal loss to the govt exchequer as well as hampered the performance of TMA in collusion with the transport supplier firm as the new tractors soon after delivery were grounded due to substandard machinery that also caused hurdle in the garbage disposal and cleanliness activities of Mansehra city. In this regard an inquiry was conducted by the Provincial Inspection Team (PIT) that charge-sheeted both the officers as well as recommended to blacklist the tractors supplier firm. The Senior Minister soon after receipt of the inquiry report ordered for disciplinary action against the two officers under the Removal of Service Ordinance and recommended constituting a high powered action committee comprising the senior DMG officers for this purpose. Meanwhile Bashir Bilour in a meeting at his office Civil Sect Peshawar asked all the administrative secretaries and project-heads of his depts. to personally supervise the responsibility of effectively checking any corruption, malpractice and irregularity in their respective depts. and sections as well as ensure financial and administrative discipline in all govt offices and organizations. He otherwise cautioned for action on any complaint received in this regard and punishing the corrupt and un-eligible officials accordingly. He made clear that the present govt under the reward and punishment policy would fully encourage the honest and dutiful staff while the corrupt and lethargic govt servants would be dealt severely without any fear or favour adding that those harming public interest intentionally would be sent to homes without delay. He expressed the confidence that all the govt depts. and organizations would leave no stone unturned for providing maximum facilities to the masses off the meagre available resources of the govt so that its image could be improved and public confidence could be restored.
