Billies pin 13-2 loss on Stayton.

STAYTON - Drew Humphrey, Taylor Larson and Andrew Downes all homered for Pleasant Hill as the Billies opened the prep baseball season with a 13-2 nonleague victory in five innings over Stayton.

Larson finished with three RBIs for Pleasant Hill, which used five pitchers to limit the Eagles to three hits.

An RBI single by Trevor Mael in the first inning accounted for North Eugene's only run as the Highlanders lost 13-1 to visiting North Medford.

Monroe allowed nine runs on only two hits as it dropped a 9-7 decision at Kennedy. Kaleb Neu singled and scored two runs for the Dragons.

Mark Metzler and Jeff Green combined to throw a one-hit shutout as Brookings beat host Bandon 10-0. Anthony Parada was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Bruins.

Cody Wells scored from second base on a throwing error with two outs in the seventh inning as North Douglas nipped visiting Glendale, 5-4.

Softball

Becca Ekeluni was 3-for-6 with three RBIs and four runs scored to lead visiting Douglas past Cottage Grove, 15-8.

Freshman MacKenzie Marchbanks pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts to lead Sweet Home to a 6-0 win over host Pleasant Hill. Kendra Lowell's leadoff single in the seventh inning was the only hit for the Billies.

Boys track and field

Dylan Bell (200, 400), Greg Burke (shot put, discus) and David Given (long jump, triple jump) were double winners to lead host Willamette to a 75-69 Midwestern League win over Lebanon. Austin Yoder won both hurdles events for Lebanon.

Girls track and field

Tisia Reynolds and Elise Gray won two events apiece to lead Willamette to a 90-54 Midwestern League victory over visiting Lebanon. Reynolds won the 200 and 400 and Gray captured the long jump and triple jump.
