Bill to post Commandments in Congress introduced. (In The Capital).


While the national debate over public endorsement of the Ten Commandments Ten Commandments or Decalogue [Gr.,=ten words], in the Bible, the summary of divine law given by God to Moses on Mt. Sinai. They have a paramount place in the ethical system in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.  in public schools and courthouses rages on, one member of Congress has decided he'd like to see the Decalogue in his own official work environment.

Rep. Brian Kerns Coordinates:

Kerns is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland.

It has a population of c. 5,200.
 (R-Ind.), a freshman House member, introduced the "Ten Commandments Public Display Resolution of 2002" in February. If passed, the resolution would require the Commandments to be "prominently displayed" in the chambers of the House and Senate.

Kerns' resolution, H.Con.Res. 315, states that the religious code has had a "significant impact on the development of the fundamental legal principles on which Western civilization Noun 1. Kerns' proposal to post the Commandments in Congress has not yet received any co-sponsors. It is the first piece of legislation Kerns has introduced during his tenure in the House.
