Bill Gates honors winners of Windows World Open; Nine winning company teams announced at WINDOWS WORLD.


ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 1995--Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates (person) Bill Gates - William Henry Gates III, Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, which he co-founded in 1975 with Paul Allen. In 1994 Gates is a billionaire, worth $9.35b and Microsoft is worth about $27b.  announced here today at the fifth annual WINDOWS WORLD An earlier computer exposition sponsored by COMDEX. Its first show was in 1991, and it was often held in conjunction with another computer show. See COMDEX.  the winners of the Windows World Open competition.

This prestigious competition recognizes developers of innovative solutions written for the Microsoft Windows See Windows.

o Environmental/Natural Resources: Amoco Corp. with their entry "PETS" (Project Evaluation Tool Set).

o Franchise: Molly Maid Inc. with their entry FranCIS returned again to the Windows World Open to win for a second year in a row.

o Government/Public Sector: Midtown Community Court with their entry Midtown Community Court System.

o Healthcare: Saint Alphonsus Saint Alphonsus may refer to the following Roman Catholic saints:
  • St. Alphonsus Liguori, founder of the Redemptorists and devotional writer
  • St. Alphonsus Rodriguez, Spanish-born widower, Jesuit lay brother
 Regional Medical Center with their entry HInet Healthcare Information System.

o Manufacturing: Midmark Corp. received the award for their entry Midmark Shopfloor Interface.

o Services: The Associates won with their entry PowerVision 1.0.

o Wholesale/Retail/Distribution: Stolt Parcel Tankers Inc. received the award for their entry STOW.
