Bill Dawson Joins Brown and Caldwell, to Lead Federal Practice on East Coast.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Brown and Caldwell recently announced that Bill Dawson has joined the company as a vice president and will lead its federal business practice on the East Coast.

A 34-year veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Dawson specializes in water resources and has managed more than $3 billion in construction projects around the world, including the Tennessee Tombigee Waterway, Oakland and Los Angeles harbors and the Los Angeles Drainage Area Project.

"Bill has solid experience and an outstanding reputation with the Corps and other sister organizations," Brown and Caldwell President and COO Jim Miller said. "Having him on board is a major advantage for our federal clients nationwide."

As part of a recent COE project, Dawson managed the development of international strategy to provide infrastructure support to Afghanistan and Iraq. This included coordinating strategy with USAID and the State Department, as well as marketing to Gen. George Casey, the Army's senior representative to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Dawson has also built relationships with chairs of congressional committees, members of Congress and senior members of the Office of Management and Budget, as well as President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
