Bikers are back with breast cancer cash.


Bikers who did a 2,500-mile tour of England England, the largest and most populous portion of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (1991 pop. 46,382,050), 50,334 sq mi (130,365 sq km). It is bounded by Wales and the Irish Sea on the west and Scotland on the north.  have raised pounds 11,000 in memory of two mothers who died of cancer.

Members of the Virago Star Owners Club came together to ride around the coast and borders of England to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the United Kingdom's leading breast cancer charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education.

Its essence comes from the thousands of people who are committed to a single vision -

The trip was organised by Lew Robinson, of Saltburn, Teesside, whose wife Karole (COR cor (kor) [L.] heart.

But it was also a special occasion for club member Bryan (COR) Johnson, of Beaumont Manor in Blyth, Northumberland, whose wife Karen also died of the disease nine years ago.

Mr Robinson said: "I'd been wanting to do the coast of England for a long time, so this was a good way of both fulfilling that ambition and raising money for a good cause.

"It just snowballed from there and we got lots of club members who came with us on the ride.

"Karole was going to do the first leg of the trip with us, but she didn't make it in the end.

"She would have been proud that we carried on and it spurred me on, knowing we were raising money for a cause that she really believed in."

A dozen bikers from the North- East and Yorkshire took part in the trip.

And yesterday they handed over pounds 11,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, which funds research into the disease.
