The federal minister recommended the idea to declare the institute as university during his visit to the institute today. Bijarani highly appreciated the work being persuaded at NISTE for equipping e·quip tr.v. e·quipped, e·quip·ping, e·quips 1. a. To supply with necessities such as tools or provisions. b. the students with skill based knowledge. He assured NISTE of his full support to strengthen its programmes and enable it to attain the status of a university of applied sciences and technical education. Director General NISTE, Professor Farid A. Khawaja gave a presentation to the minister for demonstrating the infrastructure and equipment available in the Institute. NISTE will soon get approval from cabinet and start working as first Technical varsity of the country that will train technical teachers, educate students in the technical fields of Civil, Mechanical, Auto, Electrical and Electronics, he informed. NISTE is the only apex institute of its kind which develop curriculum, train master trainers and conduct research to develop resource material. NISTE has fully equipped labs in civil, mechanical, electrical electronics and other technical fields to work as a university so HEC HEC Hautes Études Commerciales HEC Hautes Etudes Commerciales (French) HEC Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) HEC Hydrologic Engineering Center (Davis, CA) principally agreed to grant NISTE, the status of a technical University in the first week of May.
