 warned his players today they must prepare for the club's biggest match since the Spartans were beaten by Wrexham in an FA Cup fifth round replay 26 years ago, writes Bob Moreland.

Croft Park Croft Park is a football stadium in Blyth, Northumberland. It is home to Blyth Spartans A.F.C., who play in the Blue Square Conference North. It was opened by Mrs Clarke of Bellister Castle, Haltwhistle on the 1 September 1909.  was due for a pitch inspection today in the hope of staging a fourth-round FA Trophy tie against Conference club Aldershot tonight (7.45).

If the match - washed out last Saturday - was hit by another postponement, it will go ahead on Monday night.

Baker said today: "I was a young lad at school when Wrexham won that Cup replay at St James' Park.

"I have heard all about the heroics of the Blyth squad involved and I have no doubt we are facing the club's most important fixture since those glory days."

The winners will be at home to Tamworth in the next round a week on Saturday.

The winners hold the Silver Challenge Cup for one year. In the 2005-06 season, the cup was won by Newcastle Blue Star.  tie against Thornaby tonight.
