Bigger presses from Arburg.

Three new horizontal presses and a vertical model that are the largest in their respective lines were introduced at the recent Fakuma show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, by Arburg (U.S. office in Newington, Conn.). As reported in October, the company previewed its largest press ever, the 550-ton Allrounder 920 S with hydraulic clamp, 920 x 920 mm tiebar spacing (100 mm larger than the 820 S), 900 mm opening stroke, and a max. day light of 1950 mm (top photo). Arburg also rolled out the sixth and largest model in its Golden Edition series that commemorates its 50th anniversary of manufacturing presses. The 720 S Golden Edition has a 330-ton clamp, 720 x 720 mm tiebar spacing, and shot capacity of 29 oz. Like others in the series, it has the Selogica Direct controller with new 15-in. color touchscreen and simple graphical menu navigation. Fast-switching valves are mounted close to the functions they control. Servo-controlled, two-pump hydraulics allow overlapping machine movements to save cycle time.

New options for the Golden Edition allow molding with more complex tools. They include an interface for robots and temperature controllers, a sorter to separate good parts from rejects and sprues, a second core-pull function, programmable mold-cooling circuits, and a mold-temperature control system with six heating circuits.

Arburg also introduced a larger model to its Allrounder U line of small hydraulic presses. The Allrounder 520 U has 520 x 520 mm tiebar spacing and a choice of clamp: 143, 165, or 176 tons. Shot weights range up to 15.3 oz.

Arburg extended its vertical hydraulic C-clamp line with the new Allrounder 275 V (above). It comes with a clamp force of 27.5 tons and unlike the smaller 175 V, it has a rotary table. Tel: [phone] * PT Direct: 982PX
