BigBand Networks, Inc., a leading provider of broadband multimedia routing systems for broadcast television and advanced services, today announced an investment from AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  Time Warner Ventures.

This investment brings the total amount of venture capital raised by BigBand Networks to $60 million. In addition to AOL Time Warner Ventures, the company's investors include Series C round leader Charles River Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Pilot House Ventures, Cedar Fund, Evergreen Investments, CommVest and Lauder Partners.
