Steptoe & Johnson LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  has agreed to renew its nearly 24,000-square-foot lease at the 72-story US Bank Center, the tallest building west of the Mississippi River Mississippi River

The Washington, D.C.-based law firm inked 10-year deal worth $7.6 million to landlord Maguire Properties Inc., the largest owner of office towers in downtown's Bunker Hill.

The floor occupied by Steptoe & Johnson had been subleased from First Interstate Bank after it was acquired by Wells Fargo & Co. in 1996.

"Anytime a sublease sublease n. the lease of all or a portion of premises by a tenant who has leased the premises from the owner. A sublease may be prohibited by the original lease, or require written permission from the owner.  turns into a direct lease s a significant event for us," said Maguire pokeswoman Peggy Moretti.
