A BOTTLE of whisky recovered from the wreck of a cargo ship which inspired the film Whisky Galore! could fetch more than pounds 1,500, auctioneers have said.

It was one of around 240,000 bottles of whisky which went down with the SS Politician The SS Politician was an 8000-tonne cargo ship, owned by T & J Harrison of Liverpool which left Liverpool on 3 February 1941, bound for Kingston in Jamaica and New Orleans.  after it ran aground a·ground
