The Huddersfield Singers is based in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England and is a chamber choir of around 30 members.
, conducted by Philip Honnor, will sing Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle with the help of singers from the Reigate Grammar School Parents and Friends Music Society from Surrey.

This twinning arrangement has come about through personal contacts within the two choirs and makes this a particularly exciting venture for the Huddersfield choir.

The piece they have chosen calls for four soloists, a mixed choir, two pianos and a harmonium harmonium: see reed organ.

.

The soloists will be Sarah Ogden, the much praised young soprano who last year was chosen as Kirklees Young Musician of the Year at the Mrs Sunderland Musical Competition. Alongside her will be Jenni Wohlman (contralto contralto (kəntrăl`tō), female voice of lowest pitch. Originally, the term denoted a second voice set against (contra) a high voice (alto); thus, a second high voice. ), Matthew Pollard (tenor) and Robert O'Connell (bass).

The pianist will be Sue Ogden and Christine Stanton and the concert will also feature the musical talents of Jonathan Scott Jonathan Scott may refer to:
  • Jonathan Scott (zoologist), wildlife photographer, zoologist and host of BBC's Big Cat Diary
  • Jonathan Scott (football player), an American football player with the Detroit Lions
.

Jonathan, is soloist in residence with the Northern Chamber Orchestra, organist in residence at Salford University and pianist with the BBC Philharmonic as well as being a much in demand piano and organ recitalist.

Tomorrow, he will be playing a harmonium which is in itself, something of a celebrity.

The harmonium in question normally lives at Phil and Pam Fluke's Reed Organ and Harmonium Museum at the Victoria Hall in Saltaire.

The instrument, known as the Black Case Harmonium, was built by the famous firm of Victor Mustel in Paris.

It was one of a comparatively few number built and is much in demand because it offers musicians a chance to achieve a more expressive interpretation than on other instruments.

The concert begins at 7.30pm and tickets are available on the door.
