A RARE match programme from Scotland's 1926 victory over England is expected to fetch up To overtake.

The match, on April 17, 1926, was the first international played at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground.

Scotland won 1-0 thanks to a goal from legend Alec Jackson in front of 49,429 spectators.

The 83-year-old souvenir programme includes a section on the history of United.

The 118-page programme cost one old penny in 1926 and will be sold in Bonhams Bonhams is a privately owned British auction house founded in 1793. It is the third largest auctioneer after Sotheby's and Christie's, and conducts around 700 auctions per year.

The firm has London salerooms in New Bond Street and Knightsbridge.

Pride Bonhams' Dan Davies said: "There is incredible interest, not only from England and Scotland collectors, but also collectors of Manchester United memorabilia all over the world. It could very easily fetch upwards of pounds 1000."

He added: "A few of the players in this game went on to become Wembley Wizards, including of course Alec Jackson, who scored a hat-trick in the 1928 game."
