Big bank watch.[GRAPHIC OMITTED] DEAR SHAREHOLDER ... * Banco Bradesco Banco Bradesco, short for Banco Brasileiro de Descontos, that is 'Brazilian Discount Bank', is one of the Big Four banks in Brazil, the others being Banco do Brasil, Banco Itaú and Unibanco. Bradesco is the largest private bank in Brazil. Brazil's largest private bank earned US$740.2 million during the second quarter of 2006, 22.9% more than it did a year earlier. Argentina's Banco Rio broke into the black during the second quarter of this year, posting US$ 12 million in profits, up 114% from a year ago. Argentina's Banco de Galicia earned US$1 million during the April to June period of this year, down 97.9% from a year earlier.
