Big Tattoo Wines: Dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness and Charitable Giving.


SPRINGFIELD, Va. -- Childhood Cancer Month... Breast Cancer Awareness Month... Hospice hospice, program of humane and supportive care for the terminally ill and their families; the term also applies to a professional facility that provides care to dying patients who can no longer be cared for at home.  Awareness Month...the fall season is filled with organizations creating awareness and many companies rise to the occasion, doing their part to raise funds for these worthwhile causes. Among them is Big Tattoo Wines, which is focused on causes such as these not only during the designated months, but 365 days a year.

Born as a tribute and raised on philanthropy philanthropy, the spirit of active goodwill toward others as demonstrated in efforts to promote their welfare. The term is often used interchangeably with charity. , the Big Tattoo Wines project is the result of the collaboration between brothers Erik and Alex Bartholomaus. The pair lost their mother, Liliana S. Bartholomaus to cancer in the 2000. Following her death, the two decided to do something to honor her memory and, following her lifetime example, to help others. Big Tattoo Wines was born.

Gradually, the project grew, and today includes six wines, three under the label of Big Tattoo and three under the reserve level label, 2 Brothers. As the portfolio grew, so too did the mission, expanding to reach local charities benefiting the communities where the wines are sold. Fifty cents from every bottle of Big Tattoo sold is donated in their mother's name to charity, with a portion benefiting the community where the wine is sold. Due to the success of the original Big Tattoo Red, the Big Tattoo project has expanded to include six different wines available in restaurants and retailers nationwide.
