Big Sam's backing pal Bruce; NEWCASTLE IN CRISIS It's from bad to worse as Magpies' season hits a new low.

"Obviously this was after the news that Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp had turned it down.

"Bruce has only just arrived at Wigan, so you would think he would be a long shot, but they were not talking that way."
