On August 29, 2002 Big Rock Saskatchewan will launch a program to donate $2.00 for each 12 pack case (bottles or cans) of its Grasshopper grasshopper, name applied to almost 9,000 different species of singing, jumping insects in two families of the order Orthoptera. Grasshoppers are long, slender, winged insects with powerful hind legs and strong mandibles, or mouthparts, adapted for chewing.  Wheat Ale brand to the "APAS Feed Connection Trust Fund".

This campaign is to raise funds for farmers in drought stricken areas of Saskatchewan, and to help raise awareness of this natural disaster. The Saskatchewan wide program "Grasshopper Gives Back" runs from August 29 - October 10, at which time a cash donation will be made to "APAS Feed Connection Trust Fund" on behalf of Big Rock Brewery.

Founder and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Ed McNally, formerly a farmer and rancher in Southern Alberta understands the suffering of farmers as drought conditions ruins their crops and grasslands. Big Rock encourages everyone to support the Saskatchewan farmers and help out where they can. Big Rock hopes that other breweries doing business in Saskatchewan will match this offer in support of farmers.

A press conference will be held tomorrow, August 29th, at Boffins Club at Innovation Place - 106, 111 Research Drive, Saskatoon, at 2:30 pm. Join Big Rock founder and CEO Ed McNally, and the Saskatchewan team for more details, a light lunch, and of course, Grasshopper beer.
