Big Blue Adventure Series Announces Winter Events.Sports Editors/Business Editors/Travel Writers TAHOE CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2004 Adventure racing continues to rise in popularity and in the world-renowned winter playground of Lake Tahoe it was only a matter of time before snow-inspired events began popping up. The Big Blue Adventure Series, the first to bring adventure racing to Lake Tahoe in 2002, has expanded its 2004 roster to include winter competitions. The series will kick off Saturday, February 28 with the Tahoe Winter Blue Adventure Race at Northstar-at-Tahoe in Truckee, followed by the Nevada SnowMaster Adventure Race Saturday, March 27 at Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park is a Nevada state park located in western Nevada. and hosted by the Spooner Lake Cross Country Ski area. Adventure racing, defined as a multi-discipline competition, can include any myriad of tasks. Winter disciplines will include backcountry back·coun·try n.
