OTC See over-the-counter market (OTC). symbol BIGB) announced today record sales and earnings for both the twelve and twenty-six week periods ended July 29, 1995. For the twelve week second quarter, net earnings rose 35.5% to a record $3,235,000 from $2,388,000 in the prior year. Sales rose to a record $159,559,000 up 9.3% from $145,963,000 previously. Earnings per share rose to $.16 from $.15. During the twenty-six week period, net earnings rose 24.1% to a record $8,047,000 from $6,482,000 in the prior year. Sales grew 9.1% to a record $354,742,000 from $325,278,000 previously. Earnings per share rose to $.44 from $.39. Commenting on the nineteen consecutive quarters of sales and earnings improvements, Anthony Bruno, Chairman of the Board, stated that he is optimistic op·ti·mist n. 1.
