RICHARD HANNON is aiming Chesham Stakes winner Big Audio at Newmarket's July meeting.

The Oratorio colt appreciated the step up to 7f when getting off the mark when holding Emperor Claudius by a short head in Saturday's Listed contest.

He is set to try to follow up in the Superlative Stakes over the same distance on July 10.

"Big Audio might well run in the Superlative Stakes, for which he does not incur a penalty," said Hannon.

"We knew that he would improve for the step up to seven furlongs, but we were concerned that the ground at Ascot might be too quick, so it was a pleasant surprise to win.

"Hughesy [Richard Hughes] was impressed with the foot he showed to make up 15 lengths on the leaders who had gone off too fast," he said.

Xtension, runner-up to Big Audio's stablemate Canford Cliffs in the Coventry Stakes, is to step up to 7f and is being considered for the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.

Trainer Clive Cox said: "I was thrilled to bits with him. He bumped into a very special horse.

I want to step him up to seven furlongs and we do have a sales race as a possible target..

"We will also look at the Group 2 at Goodwood. He has come out of his race very well." Bryan Smart is mulling over options for Ceedwell following her third place in the Queen Mary Stakes.

"She's come out of the race really well and I couldn't be more pleased," said Smart. "We'll step her up to six now. We'll just let her chill out a bit after Ascot.

"There are several places she could go. There's the Firth of Clyde, a Group 3 at Ayr I won two years ago and the Cheveley Park at Newmarket. I think she'd be good enough to have a crack at that. The next step might be the Lowther."
