Biffaward funding helps write recipe for food and drink sector.


A study to determine the environmental impact of the food and drink processing sector is underway, thanks to a 158,265 [pounds sterling] grant from Biffaward, a multi-million pound environment fund managed by the RSNC RSNC Royal Society for Nature Conservation (UK)

The food and drink manufacturing sector represents 132.7 billion [pounds sterling] of total UK consumer expenditure. The sector also produces some 11.5% of all UK industry waste produced. The majority of this waste goes directly to lanfill, with only smaller amounts being used in composting
