Bids for Artenius.

TWO bidders were reported over the weekend to be in discussions to buy the mothballed Artenius plastics plant at Wilton.

The Sunday Times said US group International Process Plants - a global supplier of used processing plants and processing equipment - and Indonesian firm Indorama - a global manufacturer of industrial products, including the plastics chemicals PET and PTA, both of which were produced at the Wilton plant - were said to be in talks with administrators at Deloitte.

No one was available at Deloitte to comment.

Last week, most of the remaining 247 Artenius staff were made redundant - 137 had earlier lost their jobs following parent company La Seda de Barcelona's decision to put the plant up for sale as it sought a refinancing package.
