Bid to rid resort of 'tat'.


THE sight of plastic bottoms and breasts on Blackpool's seafront could soon be a thing of the past thanks to a new campaign.

An initiative is being launched to rid the town of tacky gifts like inflatable body parts, fake guns and rude T-shirts.

A Blackpool club were members of the Northern Union Lancashire Second Competition in 1898/99.
 Council, local police, trading standards officers and some businesses have pledged to promote the resort as a high-quality, family destination.

Traders will be asked to adopt a voluntary code, called the Quality Management Initiative, which aims to overhaul Blackpool's image.

Sex toys, offensive T-shirts, pop-guns, knives and drug-taking equipment are all listed as "undesirable" under the code.
