Bid to butter up the weather.A staggering 200,000 litres of hot water were used to hide freak snow conditions in order for butter brand Lurpak to film its latest advertising campaign. On set in the supposedly sunny Norwegian village of Fredrikstad, the film crew shooting the new Lurpak adverts were faced with seven inches of snow, the heaviest snowfall in 40 years. Drastic measures had to be taken in order to create what appears on screen to be a bright summer's day, with sun streaming through the windows of an idyllic i·dyl·lic adj. 1. Of or having the nature of an idyll. 2. Simple and carefree: an idyllic vacation in a seashore cottage. Scandinavian cafe. Snow ploughs and water hoses were hired to clear the snow every morning to ensure it stayed well out of shot, and more than 200,000 litres of hot water used to steam snow from buildings. In addition, plastic sheeting had to be used to cover the windows of the cafe so viewers won't see the heavy snow showers outside. Its purpose is to emphasise a phrase that the company wishes to be remembered by, particularly for marketing a specific corporate image or connection to a product or consumer base. : "Go on, give in to Lurpak." |
