Bid for kids to play it safe.


THE safety of Newcastle's youngest residents will be highlighted at a special event at the city's Discovery Museum next week.

Organised by The Child Accident Prevention Forum the Newcastle Newcastle, city, Australia

 under fives Winter Safety Event will take place on Wednesday from 11am to 2pm.

Children are being invited to attend the information session with their parents or carers, where they can talk about topics including fire safety, first aid and accident prevention involving hot drinks. Other areas covered will be potential safety issues relating to relating to relate prepconcernant

 forthcoming events including Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas.

There will be lots of things for children to do during the session which is being supported by a range of partners including Sure Start, Tyne and Wear Tyne and Wear, former metropolitan county, NE England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Newcastle upon Tyne conurbation and comprised five metropolitan districts: Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, South Tyneside,  Fire Service and the Primary Care Trust.

They can even take part in an adventure challenge.

Karen Williams, from Newcastle Action for Parent and Toddler Groups Initiative, said: "The safety of our children is extremely important.

"This event will give parents and carers the chance to get valuable information on how they can protect their child, especially during the dark winter nights."
