Bible classes: yes and no.

Should Bible classes be allowed in the public schools? "Yes" and "No." ("Constitutional Literacy: Why American Schools Don't Need Bible Classes," Editorial, May Church & State)

Bible-as-literature courses are allowed in many school districts. The aim of these courses is literature and not religion.

Having Bible classes that inculcate in·cul·cate
tr.v. in·cul·cat·ed, in·cul·cat·ing, in·cul·cates
1. To impress (something) upon the mind of another by frequent instruction or repetition; instill: inculcating sound principles.
religion, however, is a no-no. Whose religious belief would be taught? Whose Bible would be used? The Hebrew Bible? The Catholic Douay Bible Dou·ay Bible
n.
The first English translation of the Latin Vulgate Bible authorized by the Roman Catholic Church. The Old Testament was published in 1582, the New Testament in 1609-10. Also called Douay Version.
? The King James Bible? A "Revised" Bible?

Select any religion and/or Bible to be taught and there will be a "holy war" in that public school district. Taxpayers will object, and who could blame them!

The Vedic, Buddhist and Jain religions share a common regional culture situated near and around north eastern India -

Religious schools are the perfect places for Bible classes that inculcate religion. Keep them out of the public schools.
