Bibby buys vessel to support divers.


BIBBY Line, the privately owned Liverpool shipping group,has sealed a multimillion pound deal to buy a diving support vessel A diving support vessel is a ship that is used as a floating base for professional diving projects.

It is a diversification from its historical markets of carriers, accommodation vessels and jack-up rigs.

Commercial director Jebb Kitchen said: ``We are keen to expand our offshore activities and the diving support sector offers exciting opportunities.''

The vessel, Aquamarine aquamarine (ăk'wəmərēn`, äk'–) [Lat.,=seawater], transparent beryl with a blue or bluish-green color. Sources of the gems include Brazil, Siberia, the Union of Myanmar, Madagascar, and parts of the United States. , is used in offshore construction and maintenance work and supports divers, using a special mix of gases enabling them to work for extended periods.
