Building upon an existing deployment of Veraz's ControlSwitch[TM] and the I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways, this expansion will enable Bezeq to significantly reduce its operating and capital costs by migrating voice traffic off its legacy TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Bezeq initially deployed Veraz's ControlSwitch to support local number portability "LNP" redirects here. For the airport in Virginia with that IATA code, see Lonesome Pine Airport. For the compound InP, see Indium phosphide.

Now, Bezeq will expand the use of the ControlSwitch along with Veraz's I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways to migrate traffic off of Bezeq's existing TDM tandem switches onto a national IP backbone, greatly reducing their on-going operating and capital costs and in particular their real estate costs.

"The initial Veraz deployment has been tremendously successful; we were able to rapidly enable LNP/MNP requirements across our network," said Yuval Keinan, VP of Engineering and Networks, Bezeq. "Now we can further leverage the power of Veraz's ControlSwitch and the I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways to continue to reduce costs from using legacy equipment while we expand our network capacity."
