PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- BeyondTrust Corporation, the leading provider of Enterprise Least Privilege Management solutions, today announced that Chief Technology Officer Marco Peretti has been selected to lead a Peer2Peer discussion at the upcoming RSA Conference The RSA Conference is a Cryptography-related conference held annually in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The RSA Conference started in 1991 as a forum for cryptographers to gather and share the latest knowledge and advancements in the area of Internet security.

The Principle of Least Privilege In computer science and other fields the principle of minimal privilege, also known as the principle of least privilege or just least privilege, requires that in a particular abstraction layer of a computing environment every module (such as a process, a user or a  is a security best practice developed by the Department of Defense over 30 years ago. It states that each subject in a system should be given the most restrictive set of privileges necessary to complete their authorized tasks in order to limit the damage resulting from accident, error or unauthorized use. This principle takes on even greater importance in today's enterprise computing environments, where properly limiting user privileges can play a key role in reducing both the threat of data breaches and infection from malware.

During a Peer2Peer discussion, "Implementing the Security Best Practice of Least Privilege," Marco Peretti will moderate an interactive discussion among network and security practitioners to address the following items:

* Implementing the principle of Least Privilege in a Windows environment

* Microsoft Windows Vista's User Account Control (UAC (User Account Control) The management of user accounts in Windows Vista. Peretti, an enterprise security expert, has over 15 years experience engineering security solutions. As CTO of BeyondTrust, Peretti developed a dynamic per-process privilege management system to enable Least Privilege on Windows over two years ago.
