Lamberton (M.F.A. in creative reading, U. of Arizona), after being returned to serve out a twelve year sentence in an Arizona prison following a nineteen month legal reprieve reprieve (rĭprēv`): in law, see pardon.  penned a series of essays--in which he reflected on the natural environment around him and his own personal situation--that were to form the material for his Wilderness wilderness, land retaining its primeval character with the imprint of humans minimal or unnoticeable. In the United States, the Wilderness Act of 1964 established the National Wilderness Preservation System with a nucleus of 9 million acres (3.  and Razor Wire. Here he revisits similar ground in a series of essays that were penned before and after those previously published essays.
