Made by using vodka as black as night and frightful garnishes, these cocktails will bring supernatural life to any holiday gathering. Black Widow black widow, poisonous spider of the genus Latrodectus, found throughout North and South America and common in the SW United States. The name derives from the fact that the female, like those of many other spider species, may eat the male after mating. 2 ounces black vodka Pomegranate juice Pomegranate juice is a juice made from the pomegranate fruit. Culinary use Pomegranate juice is enjoyed as a drink in the Middle East. It is also used as an ingredient in the Persian dishes fesenjan and ash-e anar. Licorice licorice (lĭk`ərĭs, –rĭsh), name for a European plant (Glycyrrhiza glabra) of the family Leguminosae (pulse family) and for the sweet substance obtained from the root. stick Pour pomegranate juice into a glass and float the vodka on top by using a spoon or a bartender's key, a tool that looks like a flat spoon, to keep the liquids separate. Serve in a tumbler over ice. Garnish with a licorice stick. Smashing Pumpkin 1 ounce vodka Splash of orange juice Splash of champagne Orange slices Pour the orange juice and vodka first, followed by the champagne. Serve in a highball or pilsner glass Black Magic Martini 2 ounces black vodka Cherry juice to fill glass Blackberries Raspberries Pour both ingredients in a martini glass, garnished with blackberries and raspberries. Vampire Vodka Tonic 2 ounces black vodka Tonic water Licorice stick Fill glass halfway with ice and pour tonic water until two-thirds full, then add the black vodka.
