Beware of cold calling drive gang; REDDITCH.

Chiefs at Worcestershire County Council were tipped off about the workmen after residents reported they were cold calling at their houses in Redditch.

The gang, initially thought to be contractors using left-over material to make an extra profit, have targeted homes across Worcestershire.

Council highways contractor Ringway is forbidden from soliciting business.

Ally Cornelius from Trading Standards, said: "Even if callers are genuinely working on behalf of a legitimate company, we'd strongly advise residents not to agree to any jobs.
