Bevin Boys, the 10% of the male population who did not go to war, played an important role by keeping the coal supply flowing from mines across the region. The exhibition will open at the library on September 4 and will visit Central Library in the town centre and Newton-le-Willows Library over two months. Staff will also be visiting care homes to chat about residents' memories. |
