Hendrickson also resigned from the Fort Smith, Arkansas-based company's board of directors. Beverly's news release gave no reason for the resignation, which came shortly after it reported a 63 percent drop in earnings for the third quarter (blaming lower Medicare reimbursements and rising labor costs) and that it was paying $175 million in tentative settlement of a federal investigation into its Medicare billing practices.
