JAMES McARTHUR believes the capture of Guillaume Beuzelin proves Hamilton aren't only interested in flogging stars.

Boss Billy Reid sold key men James McCarthy, Brian Easton and Richard Offiong in the summer and a host of new additions have failed to prove themselves good enough.

Accies have won just once this term but McArthur is confident the arrival of the former Hibs midfielder will be the start of a turnaround in their fortunes He said: "I've seen Beuzelin a few times with Hibs and he looked a really good player. He was very impressive and his acquisition is a sign of where the club want to go. It's a real sign Accies want to push on to the next level.

"He's good technically and has the extra bit of quality that can maybe change a game.

"I'm delighted Guillaume is here and looking forward to playing with him."

Despite the poor start McArthur, has been outstanding and said: "I've been happy with my performances and feel I've stepped up from last year.

"My knee affected me a little back then and I now feel I'm getting to a level of consistency I'm happy with."
