 and reflects Ghana's political history, which had been dominated by military intervention and dictatorship since Kwame Nkrumah Kwame Nkrumah (September 21, 1909 - April 27, 1972)[1], one of the most influential Pan-Africanists of the 20th century, served as the founder, and first President of Ghana.  led Ghana, the first African country to achieve independence in 1957.

The book examines the post-Rawlings era, political inheritance in the 21st century and how Kufuor was able to steer the first successful transition of power from one government to another in Ghana's history--thus pointing the way to more democratic structures and accountability in the rest of Africa. Kufuor's vision, implemented through his public policy enabled his government to tackle poverty reduction and many economic adjustments that confronted his administration from 2000-2006.
