Better safe ... Episcopal Church Home architects succeed in creating a unique personality within a secure facility.


The winner of our Specialty Category Episcopal Church Home--Memory Care Center of Excellence, in Louisville, Ky., is our third winner in a series of five in our annual Order of Excellence in Design & Architecture awards. The architects and interior designers, who were both instrumental in the final results of this project, came from Reese Design Collaborative, PSC (Public Service Commission) Same as PUC. , in Louisville, Ky.

Bryan Moberly Photography, also of Louisville, Ky., served as the photographer.

Armando L. Gonzalez, FAIA, is the principal-in-charge at Pasadena, Calif.-based Gonzalez/ Goodale Architects. As a founding principal of Gonzalez/Goodale, he is responsible for the firm's operation, including contract negotiations and coordination of all projects. He has been honored with several awards, including a Public Use Award in 1993 from the Los Angeles Business Council. He has also been an active member of the architectural committee.

Kay S. Trimmer. CID. IIDA, founder and president of St Petersburg, Fla.-based IDKT IDKT I Don't Know That , has been involved in interior design for more than 40 years. Trimmer has been active on several boards such as the interior Architecture Department of Ohio University and on the Leadership Council for The Caritas Project. She is also a consultant to several companies including Health Furnishings Solutions, Armstrong Ceilings and Hill-Rom.
