Better liquid transfer.A new range of quick-strip and easy to maintain centrifugal pumps, which are ideal for transferring liquids in dairy, food and other similar process applications, has been introduced by Pump Engineering Ltd. CSF-CS and CSA (1) (Canadian Standards Association, Toronto, Ontario, www.csa.ca) A standards-defining organization founded in 1919. It is involved in many industries, including electronics, communications and information technology. pumps can handle capacities from 1 to 500[m.sup.3]/hour with heads up to 100 metres. They are manufactured in investment cast AISI AISI American Iron and Steel Institute AISI African Information Society Initiative AISI Alberta Initiative for School Improvement (Canada) AISI As I See It AISI American International Supply, Inc (Oakland, CA) 316L stainless steel for all wetted parts, with a 6 vane open impeller that enables the handling of liquids containing particles or small solids. The pumps, which incorporate the key features associated with hygienic pumping such as electropolished finishing of all surfaces, have been designed for CIP (1) (Common Isochronous Packet) The packet format used in time-based (real time) FireWire transmission. See FireWire, IEC 61883 and mLAN. (2) (Common Industrial P cleaning with the elimination of stagnant areas. They are also fitted with a clamp facility allowing for quick and simple dismantling. The CSA version has an electropolished finish to 0.5[micro]m Ra and is approved to US FSA 3A standard or European EHEDG EHEDG European Hygienic Engineering Design Group standards. Depending on the application CFS-CS and CSA pumps can be supplied with an internal or external single mechanical seal or flushed double mechanical seal for high-temperature liquids or those with a tendency to crystallise. Elastomers are available in a choice of Viton, EPDM EPDM Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer EPDM Enterprise Product Data Management EPDM Ethylene Propylene Dimonomer (industrial/commercial piping/plumbing components) EPDM Engineering Product Data Management , silicon or PTFE PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene. . Typical applications include cream, milk, oils, fruit juices, high purity water, cellular suspensions, sugar solutions, yeast and melted butter.
