BETTER links between Birmingham business and Britain's financial hub will be on the agenda with a visit to the Midlands by the Lord Mayor of the City of London.

, will be in Birmingham on Monday for a networking luncheon at the Copthorne Hotel organised by West Midlands Business Council.

 executive director James Watkins Professor James Watkins is head of the department of Sports Science at the University of Wales Swansea.

Professor Watkins is an advisory board member of the Journal of Sports Sciences and an editorial board member of the European Journal of Physical Education.
 said: "With the world's second largest financial centre just at the bottom of the M1, we know that the West Midlands region is in a prime position to benefit from our close links with the Square Mile.

"We are not just the home of the Industrial Revolution - but our innovative businesses are now leading the way for UK plc.

"It is so important to have stronger links with the City, for the benefit of closer co-operation will not just help City-based financial institutions but could bring a real boost to the regional economy in terms of jobs and prosperity."
