A NEW Midland website innovation is helping transform e-commerce techniques for users thousands of miles away in remote locations.

The CMS Editor software programme devised by Solihull-based JBH Consulting Support is being used by clients such as Dr Dick Morgan, of Knowle, who provides medical support for Land Rover customer expeditions in areas such as deserts.

Dr Morgan said: "It maintains a real sense of ownership because I don't depend on someone else making the changes. I can keep people up to date by uploading photos as I move from location to location."

John Harper, director of JBH Consulting Support, said: "The concept is not new but it has been the preserve of larger-size companies to have this capability. It does not mean the need is less for small firms of one to 10 people."

The programme devised by the Solihull firm costs pounds 650 and includes the training. "If you were to say to a small operation the programme costs pounds 1,500 it would be beyond them so I looked at developing a solution," said Mr Harper.
