She leaves two sons, Herbert M. Varnum and his wife Jean of Worcester and Roger E. Varnum and his wife Sandra of Cape Porpoise porpoise, small whale of the family Phocaenidae, allied to the dolphin. She was born in Massachusetts daughter of the late Herbert T. and Florence (Gassett) Mason and lived in North Brookfield before moving to Florida 24 years ago. Funeral Services for Betsey will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in North Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, 133 North Main St., North Brookfield, MA 01535.
