Brown's family and friends are sponsoring several fundraisers in an effort to collect $167,000. They include a container drive at area businesses, and a refundable bottle and can drive now through Sept. 21. Also, new, collectable, crafted or African items are being sought for an auction tentatively scheduled for Oct. 25.
