Internet Capital Group (NASDAQ:ICGE), a leading business-to-business e-commerce company, today announced the addition of Beth Kaplan as managing director of operations in its Wayne, PA office. Kaplan joins ICG from Rite Aid, where she served as senior executive vice president, after previously heading the domestic cosmetics and fragrances unit of Procter & Gamble.

While at Rite Aid, Kaplan helped to transform the company from a regional player to a nationally recognized leader in its industry. She also spearheaded Rite Aid's Internet strategy and helped coordinate its investment in drugstore.com, which was one of the first implementations of a "click and brick" strategy, fusing conventional retailers with the power of the Internet to best serve customer needs. Additionally, Kaplan performed an integral role in establishing and maintaining Rite Aid's strategic partnership with General Nutrition Center.

Before joining Rite Aid, Kaplan served as a vice president at Procter & Gamble, where she led more than 2,000 people as president of its Noxell Division, responsible for the overall strategic direction and business leadership of the large US cosmetics and fragrance business unit. In this position, Kaplan led the product and marketing initiatives for the Cover Girl and Max Factor brands and oversaw the launch of a new distribution center network, which restored customer service reliability. Previously, she was a general manager in Procter & Gamble's Food and Beverage Sector.

Kaplan earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton Undergraduate School and an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business. She was also named one of Advertising Age's "25 Women to Watch" in 1998.
